This is a full-time position located at Grange Farm, Gosport. Hours of work are 37 per week, normally Monday to Friday, but with a requirement to work some weekends for events, and evenings from time to time to attend meetings and guide walks as and when required.

You will be assisting the Countryside Officer in the day to day management of Grange Farm and the Alver Valley Country Park, as well as monitoring and management of the other sites within the Borough. Your role will include advising members of the public on countryside issues, assisting with educational visits and public events, and general estate management.

You should have knowledge and understanding of ecological issues, legislation and policies, coupled with an understanding of habitat management. This will be matched by your enthusiasm and commitment to working with a range of professionals and volunteers. Previous experience of similar work would be an advantage. You must have good communication skills, ability to use Microsoft applications, and be able to work unsupervised. You will be driving a Council vehicle, and must hold a full, current driving licence for that purpose.

There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to occupy the property at Middle Barn during tenure of this post for which a rent will be payable.
