Support and Information Zone

We have an exciting opportunity within the Service Delivery Support team of the Customer Experience unit, for an IT Support Technician. This position would ideally suit someone looking for a new challenge and a chance to advance their IT technical skills in a hands-on busy role.

The role of the IT Support Technician is to respond quickly and professionally to escalated customer IT issues and requests, seeking to provide a resolution or further escalation as appropriate to other teams.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of supporting IT hardware, software, systems and services. You will also need to possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft and Apple products, and teaching room technology such as SMART boards, large format displays, projectors and audio equipment to enable you to respond quickly to emergency call outs.

You will need strong communication skills that enable you to explain complex technical information to staff, students, visitors and directorate colleagues. Additionally, you will have the ability to problem solve issues, and create and implement solutions whilst delivering first class customer service on a daily basis. The post holder will need the ability and desire to acquire and learn new skills and share their knowledge with colleagues and customers when appropriate.
