Job description
MotorSport Vision (MSV) is Europe’s leading race circuit operator, owning and operating some of the UK’s most iconic venues, including Donington Park, one of the world’s most celebrated motorsport circuits, which hosts major national and international events throughout the year including ZYN British Superbikes Championship, WSBK, BTCC and Donington Historic Festival.
We are seeking a confident and committed Team Leader to support the effective day-to-day running of our Garage 39 Restaurant and hospitality operation. Working closely with the Restaurant & Hospitality Manager, you’ll play a key role in operational delivery, resource planning, team leadership and ensuring exceptional standards in food, beverage, and hospitality experiences across the world-class venue. This is a hands-on, customer focused position ideal for someone passionate about food, hospitality and delivering a first class customer experience.
Duties of the Garage 39 Team Leader will include:
- Ensuring all catering and hospitality outlets are appropriately staffed by forecasting demand, scheduling efficiently, and maintaining staffing levels within agreed budgets set by the Donington Park Circuit Manager
- Producing detailed staff rotas at least one month in advance, preparing in advance for our promoted events
- Managing the catering assistants’ holiday and working shift patterns, attendance and performance
- Compiling and submitting timely and accurate information to the Group Payroll team on a monthly basis
- Setting and regularly reviewing outlet operating hours in collaboration with the Restaurant and Hospitality Manager to align with business needs and customer demand
- Assist in coordinating all hospitality set ups across Donington Park
- Assisting in event planning – setting up signage, programme distribution, linen orders, stock ordering, uniform allocation etc
- Ensuring all Front of House staff are fully trained, compliant, and confident in their roles
- Overseeing Garage 39 Front of House areas on promoted events, ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and a professional presentation at all times
- Deputise in the absence of the Restaurant and Hospitality Manager
- Personal Licence Holder (Desirable)
- Health & Safety related qualification e.g. IOSH (Desirable)
You will be / have:
- Previous catering / front of house supervisory experience within the Hospitality and Events industry
- Excellent written and spoken English
- A good communicator at any level, both written and verbal, with an eye for accurate detail
- Relevant Food Safety and Hygiene qualification
- Excellent IT skills with the ability to use MS Office packages (in particular Word, Outlook and Excel) along with systems such as POS, ordering, rotas etc
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Strong teamwork ethic within and between departments
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Ability to demonstrate a meticulous level of diligence
- Highly motivated and energetic with a can-do attitude
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends to support events and business needs
