Two years ago, the Aldingbourne Trust embarked on a collaborative journey working in partnership with Chichester college to develop a service for young people who are living away from home for the first time whilst attending college.

The aim of this service is to provide a safe, supportive & welcoming home where young people who have a learning disability and emotional needs can develop their self-esteem, confidence, resilience and life skills for adulthood.

We are recruiting support workers to be part of this innovative service. Your role will be to support people in their homes to develop their independence and embed the life skills they are learning at college, safely live the lives they choose, while developing their own independence. No previous experience of working with people with learning disabilities or autism is needed, but an interest in social care and working with young adults is a definite must!

You will work as part of a team, on rota supporting people at home and in the community. Shifts will include a mixture of early mornings, late shifts, and sleep-in shifts.

You will be expected to meet the requirements of the Care Standards Act and Regulations, ensuring the services meet the standards set out by the Care Quality Commission and other legal requirements including the West Sussex Safeguarding policies.

Closing Date - 10 February 2021
